On October 1st, the International Advisory Committee invited OU students to the 2021 International Bazaar, situated snugly within the Walker storm shelter.
“Immerse yourself in various cultures, try some delicious food, and get to know different international student organizations on campus!” declared the announcement email, and indeed, upon entering the event, I was greeted with excited conversation, beautiful music, and the delicious smells of food from all over the world! I bought several goodie-bags and multitude of different snacks, as well as learned about all the international organizations on campus!
While sipping on some tea from Oman and snacking on some “arroz con léche” (a rice pudding dish), I watched a henna demonstration and spoke to the Vietnamese Student Association. It was a wonderful experience, and I left the bazaar stuffed with good food and grateful for the opportunity to learn about the different cultures that make up the OU student body.
