My parents both are in love with music, as am I. When I was born, my parents knew after lots of thought for a name, to name me Presley, after Elvis Presley. My dad not only grew up listening to Elvis in his childhood home, but eventually got to see him in concert with his dad too. Elvis has had a major influence on how we listen to music, what we listen to, and even played apart in some iconic dance moves. My parents loved a lot of music artists, but what made Elvis so special was for what is known as “rock n’ roll”. Various genres of music went a long way for Elvis, such as the influence of gospel music, pop, rock, and even some jazz. Although Elvis had a saddening end to his career, my parents chose Presley as a unique name and to show that I can make a big impact on society one day. In addition, my middle name is Grace, which often gets mistaken for being named after Graceland, which was Elvis’s home. Yet the name Grace came from stories in the Bible, as a reminder that no matter what happens in life, God shows us endless Grace. I strive to have a unique name for my future children one day, that reminds them that they are strong and can make a difference in life.
