I had been so eager to blog about my experience to Colorado with the OU BCM (Baptist Collegian Ministry) to the Glenn Eyrie. I not only had a great time meeting people, playing games, and participating in worship, but I also truly learned so much. I learned more about what the Bible says, memorized scripture, and even learned more about myself and my future. I was extremely nervous to go on this trio because I originally did not know anyone and did not know if I would be welcomed or remembered once the trip ended. I can firmly know that those thoughts were all lies and levels of uncertainty. I was immediately welcomed with open arms and even found myself getting out of my comfort zone by going from table to table introducing myself and figuring out what everyones interests were. One activity that was different was what is known as “cow tongue.” I learned that this activity was born years ago. It is essentially a mix of frisbee and football…except with a real cow tongue. I had never heard of this, but wanted to see what it was about. No, I did not participate in that activity, but it was fun to watch since OSU was also on the trip, and that meant that “cow tongue bedlam” was to be set in place. Additionally, other activities during free time consisted of going to Manatee Springs to shop and tour around and exploring the castle that was near the area we stayed in. Overall, I will never forget this experience and I feel that I have grown as a person and create so many friendships that will last me a long time. I wish to go again next year.
