I had an amazing time a few weeks ago during Sooner family weekend. I had the opportunity to take both my parents on campus to show them Gaylord Hall, since I am officially a student in the College of Journalism. They loved it and thought it was a phenomenal building. We got to eat a good breakfast at Blackbird on Campus Corner, as well as shop around in the nearest boutiques. Since then, me and my family got tickets to go to the OU football game last weekend to not only watch the game, but to also see the Baker Mayfield statue. I thought the statue looked really good. Additionally, I think it was so special that Coach Venables took the time to not only shout out and recognize previous players, but also united the newest team members on the field linking arms. It was such a fun time to catch up with both of my parents and enjoy what the University of Oklahoma is about. We also ran into a few family members and some friends along the way too. I look forward to seeing more games next fall and taking some family with me whenever we are all available.
