Recently, I have gotten extremely interested in exercise. I went from being heavily active in highschool, to only doing USing the entire fall semester. I needed cardio desperately. Therefore, I found myself going to cyclebar. The first class was rough to say the least. My legs were burning, I was drenched in sweat and could hardly breathe. However, I found that the entire experience created an atmosphere of self-love and zero peer pressure. The lights are turned off since there are special lighting effects throughout such as strobe lights and colorful ones as well. This made it almost impossible to look around and compare myself to others. The mental game of comparison is very harmful to the process of working out. That is why I really enjoyed this form of exercise. It was just me and my bike, my body against my mind. Since the first class, I have gone six more times and loved every minute no matter how difficult it became. On the days I do not attend cyclebar, I workout at the cross gym. My days at cyclebar are definitely more productive because I work harder when I am not in charge of my own workout.
I am so happy I found a way to workout that not only is a form of self-paced cardio, but I am also able to attend with friends and enjoy quality time together.
