Wishbone Kitchen

A social media review

Meredith Hayden is an extremely talented and business savvy young woman. The first time I came upon her social media platform of tik tok, was about a year ago. I became fascinated by her because, without knowing it, she was playing off of every trend as it came along and applied it to her account and lifestyle. Right as the vacation destination of Cape Cod and east coast beach houses were becoming popular, she came on the scene as a private chef for a family in the Hamptons over the summer. The “coastal grandmother” aesthetic took off and became widely known while she was basically living the dream.

Her goal, I’m sure, was to promote her cooking. Her videos were voice-overs of her filming her daily life of picking out ingredients and preparing amazing food for a family. She creates unique recipes and posts them in fun, aesthetic videos. Another trend that she unknowingly hopped on was every teenage girl loving hot pink. Her most famous recipe on her platform was the beat and goat cheese pasta, a.k.a “the pink pasta”. Her audience went crazy over it due to the physical appeal of the color without even knowing what it would taste like. The common love of pink by teenage girls became extremely helpful in launching her career.

I have been digging recently on where she is now in her career. She turned her TikTok and Instagram handles into her website name, Wishbone Kitchen. Her website showcases pictures of all of her recipes as well as step by step instructions on how to prepare them. They range from healthy salads and meat options to pastas, pastries and desserts. My mouth waters everytime I look up her accounts.
