“The Flash” is a show on CW that began airing in 2014. This show starred Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash and took account of all of his many journeys and battles against various enemies and natural disasters. This hero has the power of super speed and uses this power to fight crime and enemies with supernatural powers. One of the worst and most powerful foes he had to face was practically a doppelgänger of himself. This enemy took the persona of the “Reverse Flash” and wore the same outfit as the Flash but just reverse colors. The scheme of his uniform was mainly yellow with red accents where as our protagonist sported mainly red with yellow accents. They both shared this power of super speed (although in the beginning the Reverse Flash was much faster). In the end, our hero became victorious and entrapped his double and saved the day. The person behind the mask was revealed to be Eobard Thawne, setting up the ultimate betrayal as this man was our hero’s mentor and practically showed him the ropes of his crime fighting alter ego. The actor playing Thawne was Tom Cavanagh, who did an exceptional job at playing two completely different personalities and seemed to truly care about our protagonist. This would not be the last time these two doppelgängers would face off, but it certainly was the most crucial setting up the betrayal of the Flash’s corner man and mentor. He even had a lair inside of their headquarters that would later be discovered by our hero. This show was really good for the first couple seasons but later would replay the same plot points and story arcs leaving for a tasteless shell of the original show. This would cause it to lose traction with fans and comic book fanatics, including myself. It started off very good, but I definitely lost interest as time went on.
