A Tale of Two Brains (Multimodal Project)

Hey Guys! My name is Nick Van Pelt and I am here today to present my multimodal project. The topic of this presentation is something I feel like needs to be brought to light much more than it already is and something that I feel like has very much been overlooked in the sporting world and society. Players in the NFL are suffering from head injuries and trauma all the time and it only gets worse as the speed of the game increases. A study done by Boston University actually demonstrated in a study of former NFL players brains that ninety-nine percent of these individuals are suffering from the horrible degenerative CTE disease. Players that have this are more likely to make radical and rough decisions off the field that affect their lives immensely. Sometimes these decisions can end the lives and careers of these men and destroy them from within. I chose to make a movie trailer for a mock documentary about a few examples of players that have suffered the most loss due to this condition. These NFL stars lost themselves and thus lost their careers and later their lives and this will not change if nothing is done to at least help or give support to those that are willing to put their brains on the line for their own passion and the entertainment of others.
