So, I just had a small accident in the metal shop right. My left pointer finger got slightly eaten by an angle grinder. Don’t worry, I got to keep the finger, as in it’s still there. Now if you don’t know what that is, it’s a power tool used to grind metal. Now I was using it to grind down my welds, I didn’t like them, they looked ugly. And the grinder was on the table, it was off, plugged in but off. And I go to grab it, and it turns on and catches my finger. Now that’s not what this blog post is necessarily about. Injuries like my angle grinder accident, they are uncanny. Like they are weird. Like it’s something that is now new to your body, it’s not supposed to be there. It’s unfamiliar. I keep going to use my hand, but then I have to remember that I can’t, or I’ll screw up my finger even more. Like this is uncanny to me. Maybe it’s just me and that I’m not used to having these types of injuries, I hope no one has to get used to these types of injuries, but it’s weird to me. Anyway, I at least get to keep the grinding pad as a souvenir.
