Meet my sweet roommate, Reese Reagan! For the past two months, we have been living together in room 731e in Walker Tower, and it has been a blast. We originally met back in the summer of 2019. We actually were both on OU’s campus for a summer dance camp! Honestly, I was originally very intimidated by her because she looked mean, and was really good at dance, making her even more intimidating – we even ended up in the same dance class.
Fast forward to that September, I signed up for OU’s Spirit day. Little did I know signing up for this would lead to a life changing decision. I showed up alone to the event because I didn’t realize none of my friends signed up either. Everyone else there was with their team or in a group, so I felt pretty lonely. Desperate for a friend or someone to talk to, I see Reese and her friend together in the corner. Although I was still intimidated by her, I put on my big girl britches and went up and started talking to them. As I walked up to them, I asked if they remembered me from the summer dance camp, and both said they did! Reese and her friend were so nice, and let me stick with them for the rest of the day. We practiced together, talked the entire time, and even performed on the field together! As we were leaving, we started talking about how we both wanted to attend OU and how neither of us had roommates yet…by the end of the day, I walked out of that stadium with a roommate.
Weeks went by, and the time started to come when we actually had to put it in writing that we were going to be roommates. I was a little nervous at first because we only knew each other very little, but I had a feeling that we would be great together, so we put each other down. Now living together, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. We get along so well, are constantly laughing, and have already made lots of memories together. Safe to say, we won’t only be freshman year roommates, but forever friends. I am so glad I decided to walk up to her on that random Saturday in September. I love ya, Reese!!! 👯♀️💖
