Finally! The day we have all been waiting for…Initiation! On October 21st, 2021, I officially became a member of the Delta Gamma Fraternity (Yes! Fraternity! Fun Fact: DG is so old, it was created before the term ‘sorority’ was). It was such a special day for the girls in my member class and I. We were not allowed to go into the house all day until initiation. We were told to wear black dresses with no jewelry and nude undergarments. We all showed up to the front of the house at 5:30 all dressed up, so we took tons of pictures to document the day. Now I am not allowed to talk about the actual initiation process or what happened, but I did get the sweetest basket from my big, Sophie. In it was my official Delta Gamma blanket that had my name and initiation date on it, a DG rain jacket, tons of DG t-shirts, some cups, and the cutest DG bracelet.
After the ceremony, Sophie and I went to Braum’s to celebrate with two other girls. I had barely eaten all day, so I gobbled my chicken strips down pretty fast. After we sat and talked for a while, the girls dropped my friend and I at our dorms. Unfortunately for me, I had a Spanish composition test in the morning, so when I got back, I went and studied with Reese for it.
I have such sweet memories from this day, and am so blessed to be a part of an amazing organization.
