Savvy Blake Boutique joins Campus Corner
NORMAN, OK – A new boutique is adding some sparkle to the University of Oklahoma’s traditional strip.

Savvy Blake, a gift and clothing store, is the newest addition to the OU’s Campus Corner. The shop opened next door to The Baked Bear just before the school year started on July 21.
“It just happened all of a sudden,” Macey Wolking, the owner of Savvy Blake, said.
Opening the new store was a big moment for the 23-year-old because it’s her first time owning a store by herself. It took her eight weeks to get the store ready for customers. She grew up in Norman and has shopped down Campus Corner for as long as she can remember.
“Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to own my own store. I love that I have been able to give Campus Corner a trendy, lifestyle gift store that caters to everyone.”
She was inspired to open her own store by her mother, who has owned multiple businesses throughout her life. Wolking said she enjoyed helping her mom with her former store, Two Hip Chicks. This sparked her passion to open up a shop of her own.
“I’ve always looked up to her. She has taught me everything I know, and I have received a lot of guidance from her,” Wolking said. “She calls herself ‘shop mom’ because she is always helping me with the store.”
Not to be confused with another Campus Corner boutique called “Savvy,” Savvy Blake has a special meaning behind the name. Wolking decided to name her shop after the two things that are most important to her: her 4-year-old daughter, Blakely, and dog named Savvy.
Lily Abbott, a Savvy Blake customer, said she first heard about the store through her sorority sisters. She was so interested about a new store on Campus Corner that she had to check it out.
“We’ve never had a store like this,” Abbott said.
Abbott said she likes how the store doesn’t just sell clothes. She has already bought decorations for her new house and many gifts for friends. The boutique sells clothes, accessories, home decor, bar cart items, game day attire, gifts, baby toys and more.
“I feel like Savvy Blake is more geared towards college girls with our fun, trendy items you may not need, but definitely want,” Lexie Porter, the Savvy Blake manager said. “It is the perfect addition to Campus Corner.”
The Historical Campus Corner District started in the early 1900s as a place for OU students and faculty to eat, shop and have fun. The conveniently located shopping strip was created because students were not allowed to have cars at the time. Ever since, the corner has continued to grow as a prominent place for OU game days and the city of Norman.
Wolking said she has enjoyed being the newest addition to the university’s popular shopping spot and is excited to continue living out her dreams of owning her own store.
