I consider myself to be an open minded and understanding person. I have always connotated differences in people and ways of living to different ways they were brought up. Where? How? By who? For some reason, I had never really focused on the when. I think it is because I always have compared myself to my peers and for whatever reason did not think about other generations than the one I am in. The differences in people and the generations each person is in has a tremendous impact on who they are. This class helped me examine the shared experiences each person in each generation shares with one another while also looking at the differences. I had always thought about the differences I have with my peers but never carefully sought out the similarities. It is important to see how different people have similar thoughts in the same generation. These things tell us that we are not alone in our thoughts and stand together as a whole.
