In 1931, James Truslow Adams wrote a book titled Epic of America. From this book was born The American Dream, or at least the name itself. Was it the start of The American Dream or just the title itself?

Well, The Great Gatsby actually proves it was just the title itself invented in 1931. The Great Gatsby novel first came out in 1925, six years before James Truslow Adams published his book. Throughout the years, The Great Gatsby has been closely analyzed by many people. One of the most common speculations about The Great Gatsby was its view on The American Dream and how the novel symbolizes it. It is a very well-known novel so there is no doubt about it that just the title was invented in 1931.

When was The Amercan Dream itself invented? Has it always been a thing? One theory about this speculation is “The America Dream” has always been some sort of symbol of freedom and a key to escaping from wherever you are. There are many questions to answer about the origin of The American Dream, or at least the idea of it. However, it was popularized in the 1900s and made its way through there. I think in some way it has always been a idea just not expressed. I also believe The American Dream will last much longer even though it has tried its best to thrive through history. There is only so much time one idea can last before it expires.
