Hi, I’m Abbie Grissom — a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Journalism with a minor in Digital Marketing. I’m passionate about photojournalism, especially in the world of sports, but I’m always eager to explore new storytelling fields. After graduation, I plan to pursue a business degree while building experience through a photography internship. Ultimately, my goal is to own and manage a photography business, offering everything from seasonal portraits to wedding coverage, all while staying adaptable in an ever-evolving industry.
I’m passionate about bringing meaning and joy into the lives of those around me. I believe the Lord has placed this calling on my heart, giving me the gift of creativity to serve others and glorify Him. Through my photography, I hope to build a brand rooted in positivity — offering a refreshing perspective in a world that often leans toward negativity. My goal is to reflect the love of Christ not only in my everyday life but also through every image I create.
My photography journey began in the summer of 2024 at Sky Ranch Camps in Van, Texas, where I had the incredible opportunity to capture the energy and joy of campers living their best week of the summer. It was a powerful experience that taught me the art of storytelling through every shot — after all, a picture is worth a thousand words. I learned how to use a camera effectively, edit photos in Adobe Lightroom, and leverage AI tools in Photoshop. But perhaps most importantly, I honed the ability to work under tight deadlines while still delivering high-quality content.
That summer opened the door for even more growth. This upcoming summer of 2025, I’ll be returning to Sky Ranch as a photographer COR (Coordinator of Photography). I’m excited to collaborate with a talented team, lead by example, and continue to grow in ministry. I look forward to teaching others what I’ve learned, helping those around me develop, and furthering my skills as both a photographer and a leader.
I approach photography with a deep sense of purpose. For me, it’s not just about creating beautiful images; it’s about telling meaningful stories that reflect love, joy, and authenticity. As a Christian, my work is rooted in the belief that every moment is a gift. I strive to capture images that not only reflect beauty but also spread positivity and hope, sharing the love of Christ in every frame.
