My entire life is based on the foundation of the Bible. This book is my rock. It has affected me in a very profound way. Another deep meaning would be “having or showing great knowledge or insight.” The Bible has transformed my life and opened my eyes to a new path many will fail to seek out and follow. This book outlines how we are meant to live and our true purpose here. On the University of Oklahoma campus, I am involved with other Christians within an organization called “Sooners for Christ,” the Bible has led me to meet so many wonderful people like them to help support me on this journey called life to serve the only loving God.

The Bible shows us how Jesus lived here on Earth as a perfect man and guides his character, which we should strive to mirror. This book is full of wisdom. The Bible gives you outstanding amounts of knowledge to use and apply to yourself to live your life in the way that we should, in the way our Father up in Heaven wants us to live. This book gives many words of encouragement in our lives because we know we cannot do it alone. We need a hand to hold. Someone to guide us. Something to rely on and trust. The book of the Bible, the book of grand promises, tells us about a Savior who can provide all those things for us. It is full of the words from the mouth of God that should fill us with hope and the joy of an eternity with Him one day.

This book has profoundly affected me, but this book has transformed my life for the better. I’ve grown up in a Church of Christ my whole life, so this book has been with me as long as I can remember. I’ve always wanted to do the right thing in my life, but that was until I was baptized in 2018, realizing that my life is to be lived for Christ and not myself. The Bible is the most trustworthy aspect of my own life. I rely on it through the hard times, especially in the good times, because praise is just as critical when life is full of blessings and happiness. The Bible has shown me God’s promises to all of us.

His promises are mainly shown in the book of Genesis, which includes the story of Noah and the ark. The basis of the story is that God commanded Noah to build an ark and told him to gather two of every species of animal on Earth to be on the ark with him. God instructed Noah to do this because He saw the evil works of man in the world, so he destroyed all living things that were on Earth, except for Noah. This was so because Noah did what was right in the sight of the Lord and trusted in His ways. God released rain that lasted forty days and forty nights, flooding Earth. After the rains subsided, God sent a rainbow into the clouds, promising that He would never flood the Earth again. This fascinating story symbolizes a renewed relationship between God and man and that man might find favor in Him.

This book has taught me about the joy that can be found and never be taken away by anyone or anything, and that joy is in Jesus Christ. Songs of praise and worship have been brought into my life through the Bible and have transformed who I am and how I choose to live my life despite what others may do. One aspect I have realized since attending the University of Oklahoma is how hard it can be to be yourself because you have such a great desire to make a community for yourself on campus. I have often found myself changing who I am and what I believe in to be liked by peers or to fit in with others. Despite the challenges, I have learned that living your life for the Lord is like a proposal; you are committed to it no matter the situation.

The Bible has shown me the narrow way and that I should not be ashamed of Christ, who he is, or how I know I should be living. It guides me through every day, whether full of trials or joy. It has taught me to be thankful for the blessings in my life, not lean on my understanding, love others, be patient, and spread the good news to others. This book has influenced my life; I rely on it like fresh air.
