In my second blog, I focused on life’s beautiful moments. Now, I want to explore how true beauty comes from within. Just as we shape our outer lives, it’s our character kindness, honesty, and confidence that truly defines us and leads to lasting success.

God painted our faces, but He left our souls for us to shape!

The true beauty of a person doesn’t come from their face but from what’s inside. Sure, we might be attracted to someone’s looks, but that beauty is temporary and fades away. However, our character stays with us forever, loyal till the end.

So why not shape it with beautiful traits like kindness, honesty, confidence, dignity, modesty, and justice?

I know it’s easy to put these ideas into words, but turning them into action is much harder. Still, ask yourself: have you ever truly tried to change, to explore real kindness, to set aside your ego and live in the moment? Have you ever done something selfless, grown or created something not for your own benefit, but just to make a stranger smile? Or have you ever tried to forgive someone who hurt you? Yes, it’s hard, but do you really believe it’s impossible?

It’s our character that leads us to success and victory in life. As a wise person once said:  “For success, 40% is knowledge, but 60% is your character and behavior.”

Let’s make it a habit to:  – If we can’t appreciate others’ success, at least don’t tear them down!  – If we think making others laugh is just for clowns, remember that causing sadness or anger is the work of the bad guys!  – If we don’t have our own accomplishments, let’s not steal others’ ideas. Instead, learn from them!  – If being honest is hard, don’t be a liar either!  – If we can’t give, let’s not punish others!  – If we aren’t fair, don’t judge others!  – If we can’t apologize, at least try not to make mistakes!  – If we don’t know how to respect, don’t expect respect either!

Let’s focus on building our inner selves instead of just admiring our outward appearances, thinking we’re the best creation of the universe.

With respect,  Maryam Popal

  1. This is an enlightening post in thinking about paint as a medium of not only beauty, but also of communication and purpose. I haven’t thought of art that way before and I think you could almost take it a step further by saying skill is also a crucial part of success along with character and knowledge.

  2. “Paint” is a kind of metaphor here, I think: the relationship between surface and depth is such a fundamental one for thinking about human life.

Maryam, I do have one question about this list of traits: “kindness, honesty, confidence, dignity, modesty, and justice”–some of those seem, not more important than others, but more relevant to this post. If I suggest that some of those traits are more closely connected to the inside/outside relationship, does that make sense to you?

    1. Yes, sir, I got it. Thank you for mentioning it. If it’s possible, I would like to add some changes.
