If you don’t know about ultra instinct shaggy, where were you in 2017? This meme has been by far the most important meme of its time. For those who don’t know, let me breakdown it down for you. Ultra Instinct Shaggy is made up of two things; Shaggy from Scooby-Doo and the “ultra instinct’’ transformation of Goku from Dragon Ball Super. You may be wondering how this combination came to be, well a YouTuber by the name of Midya posted an Ultra Instinct Reix that featured Shaggy and a science from the movie “Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur.” The scene was Shaggy fighting off a gang of thugs with the “Ultimate Battle” song inn the background. The song came from the Dragon Ball Super soundtrack. This video grew quick in popularity to the point where artist started to create fan art. Ultra Instinct Shaggy soon grew a fan base where dedicated fans drew comics, came up with memes, and even got Warner Brother’s to acknowledge the meme! This meme continues to leave it’s footprint on the internet as it is brought up quite frequently on Twitter. It also gets incorporated with other memes! Everyone has to have seen at least one of them in their time on the internet.

(Prof L adopts embarrassed voice, clears throat) “So, in 2017, I was actually……”—yep: I didn’t know this one! Based on the example you cite, it seems to have a resemblance/connection to the ancient Chuck Norris facts meme:

but I could be wrong!
Ahilynn, I love your fan perspective on the meme. One question, though: how/why do people use the meme who are NOT fans in this particular fandom. Or do they? A meme doesn’t have to be universal; memes that are the exclusive property of certain communities have their own kind of value. (And thinking about the boundaries between these two types of meme—is my distinction even tenable?—seems worthwhile…)

I will admit, this is the first time I’ve heard of this meme. However now that I’ve learned about it, I do agree it is golden and should be learned by everyone.

While yes, the Ultra Instinct Shaggy became a sensation throughout the Internet, I’d like to add that it came from two shows that started their popularity from a certain time period. Though, I have a few questions that could be pondered upon, how did it come to be? What was happening in 2017 in the case of those who never knew what happened during those years?

Yeah ultra instinct shaggy is great but don’t you think that Ultra Instinct is the real meme as it really gave way to a lot of meme templates to form due to it coming from Dragon Ball Super. I mean Ultra Instinct pretty much broke the Internet when it came out and soon many videos and memes came out of people having ultra instinct whether it was catching something that was falling out of there hands or dodging a ball/obstacle.

Arturo comes through with a classic use of the “Yes-but” / template! (I use the word “template” intentionally here because it helps put memes in contact with writing techniques!)
