Our current model organisms include the bioluminescent marine bacteria Vibrio fischeri and Photobacterium leiognathi and members of the marine Roseobacter group. We integrate research approaches in microbial physiology, genetics, and biochemistry with bioinformatics to gain a deeper and broader understanding of microbial physiological processes and how they impact bacterial growth, survival, and their role in ecosystem function. Please see the current research link for more detailed information about research projects in the lab.
