Weather Adjustments

Well folks, Oklahoma is back at it again with it’s miraculous weather change. We go from ice and snow one week to breezy and warm 70 degree weather the next. Oklahoma is not for the weak, but for those with a large variety of clothes stitting in their wardrobe.

I have lived in Oklahoma my entire life, so one of the first things I do before creating an outfit is check the weather a few times. My weather sources currently consist of the basic iPhone weather app and my mothers concerned messages. However back home I was a traditional Oklahoman who relied on Travis Meyer.

I am still learning how my body responds to certain weather environments with certain clothes. What is too little? What will be too much? It is so tricky, especially in bipolar Oklahoma. One week I am wearing my biggest winter jacket and then today I am sporting a trusty pair of basketball shorts. And this weekend I am preparing to throw on a rain jacket.

Oklahoma may be one of the hardest places to dress for.

With that being said, I think I want to start incorperating outfit of the day blogs. Maybe snap a few pictures of how I am dressed that day and discuss it’s elements, where I got them, and why I styled them the way I did. I think this could be a fun addition to the blog.

Outfit of the day blogs could definitely be fun! Also, I am from Illinois, so I am far from used to the bipolar of weather of Oklahoma, but slowly getting used to it. I definitely have a reminder in my phone to check the weather every morning though. Siri seems to get grouchy with me asking her about the weather every morning!

Y’all, spring weather is arriving! (I type these words on March 4th as I look out the window at grey sky and listen to gusting winds…..)

And–not to get too political on this blog, but cuts to the NWS could well mean that we receive less reliable weather information going forward….

So those of you who are not natives (like myself!) will need the wisdom and concrete advice of those who are even more, going forward…

this spring weather was fr crazy. i have never had such a huge pile of “wore once need to wear once again before putting to laundry” clothes because of how different I had to dress. what I figured out for myself is having a shirt or jacket with you anyways is a must as it saves both form weather (rain or wind) and ice cold buildings (blender…)
