What is the problem, the debate, the question that you are engaging with? 

    I am writing over the usage of AI in the classroom. The main debate is if AI should or should not be used in education and whether or not is is good. I personally lean towards the side of no AI in education because I personally do not find it to be good in our education.

    What role(s) are your sources going to play? 

      My sources will help me provide background and insight from teachers and a mother of a young child in elementary school. I think it is good to hhave insight from both, one has someones childs education being affected and another being ones job being affected. Both views, while different, cover quite similar things. It shows that no matter the perspective, we can mostly agree that AI does not belong in the classroom. I want my bibliography to help add a perspective from someone currently in the classroom as a student who strives to be in the classroom as a teacher, I want to help share why AI is not meant to be a classroom tool.

        As someone covering the same topic I have to disagree (No and) because I feel as if integrity is a lost cause on youth, I for one never recall a time where people wouldn’t use quizlet or just search for answers. All AI does is streamline the process, so I feel that instead of resisting the change we can integrate it, because perhaps the Students will regardless. I believe the only way to preserve academic integrity in these settings is to integrate, educate, and evolve. If we resist, we only delay the inevitable and do damage along the way.

          I completely see what you are saying. I like your view, its just I think I am so against it because I have only ever seen negatives come out of it with very few positives. AI is such a tricky subject and its hard to find that perfect solution. It will never be just right and maybe that is based simply off the human flaw of it all.

        Your topic sounds pretty solid and I like the different perspectives you’re approaching ai in education from. I think a lot of education discourse misses the mark with making space for different experiences and perspectives so I’m looking forward to seeing more of your sources. I’m curious what your specific reasons for thinking ai doesn’t belong in the classroom are and whether or not you’ve found any early ai/education studies that would support or discredit your claim.

        I agree to some degree. While it is useful, I do think that the dependency on AI that develops over time quickly becomes extremely unhealthy. I hate that I had not finished high school when major AI programs were released because I think it ruined a lot of our motivation and the mental exercise we were getting at school. I think I would not only have been more prepared to learn new subjects in college but also would have made more out of my high school experience without help from the internet in general. I honestly wish it had been more strict.
