What Makes a Quality Film?

In the movie industry there are many different ways to make a quality movie. The genre you’re going for can play a key component in what you consider a “quality film”. For example, for an action film, you would (obviously) look for action and the quality of the combat in the film. In Mystery/Thriller, you would look for suspense, impending doom, mystery, and plot twists. Superhero-based movies, in order to be considered quality, must line up with the comics in some way or be able give the hero a reasonable back story and provide their why. Also, the action shots behind it, as well as who plays that hero and how well they portray the character. There are so many genres of movie that present smaller components to making that genre of film quality in its field, but all movies when it comes to creating a quality film must contain quality acting, a quality theme, or message behind it (most of the time), the directing, the pacing throughout the movie, and the writing behind the movies. It is simply not enough to have great actors without having great writing for the actors to act on, it’s not enough to have a quality theme in a boring movie that people will struggle to keep up with, and it is not enough to have amazing writing and amazing directing without amazing acting from your actors. In a quality film you must be able to put all these elements together to create that cinematic masterpiece. The greatest films are timeless. They remain amazing throughout time, no matter the decade, or era it will aways be able to be watched.
