Will Ferrell

For this first blog post, I will share how Will Ferrell inspires me. Will Ferrell the comedian, actor, student, father and so much more has inspired me in many ways. As a kid, I always wanted to make people laugh. Some of my first memories of Will Ferrell are sitting at my grandma’s house with my cousins watching Elf during Christmas time. There is something about Will with each of his characters they believe they are the best at what they do no matter what happens to them. For example, Wills’s character in Talladega Nights believes he’s the best Nascar driver, in Anchorman he’s the best news reporter, and in Blades of Glory the best ice skater. I believe a character trait that Will has inspired me with unknowingly is self-confidence.

Will continues to inspire with his talents today as a cast member of the 2023 summer sensation Barbie movie. Outside of the Hollywood movies he stars in he keeps himself busy with many side projects like charity with Our Story – Cancer for College. Will is a large sports fan mainly of the teams located in California such as the L.A Lakers, Kings, and USC football team his Alma mater. Will graduated in 1990 with a degree in sports information. Recently he returned in 2017 to give the commencement speech to the graduating class. Where he told his story of how he was inspired to become the person he is today.

By “trusting your gut, throwing darts at the dart board, and never listening to the critics, you can figure it out”. A quote I try to live by from Will. I believe Will has a superpower only so few have in this world. The power to raise one’s spirits as high as humanly possible. I hope to one day follow in the footsteps of Will Ferrell by making people smile and giving back to my community.
