Daily Me

I believe that the author of the Daily Me got most of it correct with a few things that could be altered. Enculturation I would say is definitely prevalent in today’s society. But it varies from person to person. I agree with the examples of asynchronous and synchronous communication styles. The idea of Narrowcasting I believe is real and is used in social media. An example of this are algorithms that push certain content to certain demographics of people. The Echo chamber effect is definitely spot on, many media outlets today are forms of echo chambers. In the text the definition says they are views that challenge are own are easily excluded, ignored or left unexplored.  People want to see and hear what they believe to be right. These echo chambers only grow in size. Which leads people deeper into what they believe. I agree with the Disneyland effect. Much of what you see online today is not real and does not translate to real life. Leaving people with these ideas that are just unrealistic. The artificial crocodile effect I somewhat agree with. Saying that “some” people are attracted to the fake over the real is something I believe more. The popularity effect is one thousand percent real. Many people who are in the Gen-z and late Millennial age range I would say are affected by this. Although on the other side of the polarity effect things can actually be accomplished through popularity. An example of this are brand deals and sponsorships. Companies will endorse popular people with a following to promote their product or service. Just recently the NCAA allowed for their athletes to sign deals using their likeness to make money. Now you see companies going after popular athletes like Shedeur Sanders the son of popular football star Deion Sanders. Who recently starred in a KFC commercial.
