Hunter X Hunter: My first and favorite anime

The first anime I ever watched was Hunter x Hunter, and to this day, it remains my absolute favorite. There’s something special about the way it combines adventure, friendships, and intense battles that keeps me coming back to it. I’ve seen many anime since then, but none have managed to capture my heart the way Hunter x Hunter has.

What drew me in right away was the bond between the characters. Gon and Killua’s friendship is one of the best I’ve ever seen in any story, anime or otherwise. The way they push each other to grow while still genuinely caring for one another is inspiring. From their training under Wing to their deadly journey through Greed Island, every step of their adventure felt meaningful. Their friendship isn’t just surface-level; it’s built on trust, sacrifice, and shared struggles. Seeing Killua, who starts off so guarded, slowly open up because of Gon’s kindness made their dynamic even more emotional for me.

But Hunter x Hunter isn’t just about friendships—it also delivers some of the most intense and well-crafted fights I’ve ever seen. Unlike many anime where battles are won by sheer power-ups, Hunter x Hunter relies on strategy, intelligence, and creativity. The Nen system is one of the most unique power systems in anime, and every fight feels like a chess match rather than just a contest of brute force. Gon vs. Hisoka, Kurapika vs. Uvogin, and Meruem vs. Netero are just a few examples of fights that had me on the edge of my seat.

What makes Hunter x Hunter even more incredible is how it balances action and emotion. Some of the most powerful moments aren’t even the fights but the quiet, heartfelt interactions between characters. Killua’s inner struggles, Leorio’s unwavering loyalty, and even Meruem’s character development in the Chimera Ant arc all left a lasting impact on me. The storytelling isn’t just about who wins or loses—it’s about what those battles mean for the characters and how they change because of them.

No matter how many anime I watch, Hunter x Hunter will always hold a special place in my heart. It was my first anime, the one that introduced me to a whole new world of storytelling, and it’s still my favorite because of its unforgettable friendships and thrilling fights. I know I’ll keep rewatching it, hoping for the day the story continues, but even if it doesn’t, it’s already given me more than enough to love forever.

I haven’t seen Hunter x Hunter yet, but your post makes it sound like an incredible series! The way you describe the friendship between Gon and Killua really caught my attention—it’s rare to see such a deep and meaningful bond in stories. The mix of adventure, strategy-based battles, and emotional moments seems like it would make for a well-rounded show. I’m definitely intrigued by the unique Nen system you mentioned, and the idea of fights relying more on intelligence than power is something I haven’t seen much in other anime. It seems like Hunter x Hunter offers a lot more than just action, which makes me want to check it out!
