The complications of human interaction and how the world will evolve as technology continues to develop always come to question whenever observing and analyzing how big of an influence technology has had on our lives. The way to move forward in keeping humanity alive in the midst of the electronic resources and high rates of informational exchange through the internet will help us stay in tune with our personal humanistic values, in cohesion with understanding and cooperating with the differences within one’s generation and how they interact with other generations. With how quickly the influence of technology started to integrate itself into our societal environment, the interpretation and interaction of different generational content in the technological stratosphere has created different divides within a generation, as well as between different generational groups. The awareness and interaction that allows an individual to extract themselves from how the complexities of technology have influenced human interaction, it’s important to resonate and build off of personal moral value. It can relate to how our community interacts with real world events, when the situation comes to play when an individual has to test their true colors. In a moment of vulnerability, will the individual be able to uphold their own personal values with no distraction or worry of a perception and value that is not their true self. This brings to the light how dependence on what filters through technological platforms can influence how an individual thinks without them realizing. There’s a routine that ends up happening where the content that is shown through technological platforms are shown through certain algorithms and other tech behavioral adaptations that the platforms filter what kind of media we absorb. It’s easy to ease into whatever can be displayed in front of us without effort, but it’s up to us to extract ourselves and re-evaluate how we value technology and its impact on our moralities. This is why it has been easy to see how things such as positive toxicity and the reliance on instant response or result occurring right after an action, or how the negatives of social media have influenced younger generations. The concept of fresh contact from Mannheim will come into play and will be directed towards all members of society in aims to get generations thinking about their current stature in society, and their influence on the generation before and after them.

Sonya, you have an interesting argument and I agree that technology has had an astronomical effect on how people interact on a day-to-day basis. How do the effects of technology change our perception of interacting with each other and how is this different from previous generations? What are the other effects does technology have that we typically don’t think about? Is it a rise in inequality, or more dependence on it?
