Blog Post #2: Diving Deeper into AI.

Hello!! It’s me Victoria!! For my second ever blog post while I’m still getting used to things, I wish to focus on AI more and actually expand upon my previous blog post as I feel I was very… vague and didn’t really have my heart into this whole blogging thing yet. However, today I am more energized and feeling as if I can really set my own blogger identity so today I will be discussing another AI program that I saw an advertisement for, but this time, I actually remember the name and actually investigated the website myself!! Let me introduce you guys to… Chegg!!
https://www.chegg.com/study?c_id=sem&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hwh–brand-Chegg_Core_US_Google&utm_content=chegg&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0_f8zevdiwMV9XF_AB2DQQamEAAYASAAEgIAAPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Now, to give some clarifications, I didn’t use the site for anything, just observed the webpage and what I saw was.. well to me, a bit silly!! How exactly did I find this silly? Well all of the claims and that fact when I typed Chegg into google it was labeled as a sponsor site. I find this to be silly because every time something advertises itself over and over again, I can’t help but feel like it’s desperate for more users which… I’m sure is usually the case, y’know? Addressing the claims, well, the website of Chegg quotes 91% of their users report better grades but unlike the topic above said claim where they give you a “learn more” option, for this they offer nothing of the sort, no source to prove their point at all!! I just found all of this to be rather silly and I would’ve never thought to look more into these advertisements if it weren’t for Professor L’s comment on my last blog. Anyway, to say one last thing I guess I’m stepping out of the bounds of being unbiased but I find this to be much more… authentic to me and helps these posts feel a lot less daunting. I hope anyone reading this has a wonderful day!!!

  1. Something I’ve noticed myself doing is not thinking about whether if AI programs that are programmed into sites are fact checked or not. When it’s a part of a site, like Chegg, I tend to forget about validifying the information, which definitely has cost me when teaching myself concepts that I didn’t understand in class.
