Dr. Molly Yunker leads the Education & Outreach for the Oklahoma Geological Survey (OGS). The OGS is a state agency, and is housed within the Mewbourne College of Earth & Energy at the University of Oklahoma.
Molly has been working at the OGS since 2017, and has spearheaded several initiatives with the overarching goal of improving Earth Science Education within the state of Oklahoma. To achieve this goal, Molly develops programming opportunities to bring physical and intellectual resources into places of formal and informal education, including classrooms, public and private schools, museums, libraries, recreation centers, and more.
Molly has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Geological Foundation (OGF) since 2020. This nonprofit organization supports Earth Science education efforts in Oklahoma through grants to classroom teachers, awards to college and university students, and fundraising efforts to support geoscience initiatives that aim to improve science education. Molly is the Chair of the Grants & Awards Committee, as well as the Chair of the Girl Scout Committee.
